Visiting Tips
If traveling from Mashike, you'll encounter Shirogane Falls just before entering the Hamamatsu Tunnel. Late April to May is a particularly great time to visit, as the melting snow increases the waterfall's volume, making it even more breathtaking.
Team Nicerio revisits Shirogane Falls
On May 14, 2023, during our "Mother's Day" road trip, my family and I revisited the breathtaking Shirogane Falls. It marked my 559th day in Japan as an ALT under the JET Programme. Interestingly, we managed to visit the falls twice in a single day—once in the morning before heading to Ishikari City proper and again in the afternoon on our way back home to Rumoi City. We felt incredibly fortunate to experience its beauty under the soft morning light and the warmer hues of the afternoon, each visit showcasing a unique charm.
Getting to Shirogane Falls:
To access Shiroganeno Falls, private transportation is the sole option available, as no buses or trains are servicing the area. If you're traveling from Mashike, you'll find the falls just before the Hamamasu Tunnel.
Fortunately, there is a designated parking area available, capable of accommodating approximately 10 to 15 vehicles.
