Opened in 2010, Toi Vert II is an exhibition and sales
facility that celebrates Kuromatsunai’s specialties. The name, inspired by
French, means “green roofs,” symbolizing sustainability and action (Doux
or “DO” signifies experience and activity). This corner is packed with a
variety of carefully curated local products, including ham, sausages, ice
cream, cheese, woodwork, candles, shochu, wine, and more. It’s the perfect
place to pick up souvenirs or discover the unique flavors and craftsmanship of
Kuromatsunai.
Team Nicerio visits Kuromatsunai Roadside Station
On April 2, 2023, during the second day of our three-day
Birthday Road Trip, my family and I visited Kuromatsunai Roadside Station. This
visit marked my 517th day in Japan as an ALT under the JET Programme. I made it
a point to include this roadside station in our itinerary as part of our
Hokkaido 179 challenge to visit all roadside stations across the island. Additionally,
my daughter and I enjoy collecting roadside station stamps for the Hokkaido
Roadside Station Stamp Rally, making this stop even more special. During our
visit, we didn’t miss out on trying the roadside station’s delicious bread.
