One of the park's standout features is its natural spring water, which flows from the depths of Mt. Yotei, known for its purity and mineral richness. This water has been cherished by locals and visitors alike, with many taking large bottles to enjoy the refreshing, safe-to-drink water at home. Fukidashi Park’s water is a celebrated source of health and vitality, offering about 80,000 tons of fresh water each day, with a constant temperature year-round. dishes like Genghis Khan, a
famous grilled lamb dish, making it a great stop for food lovers.
Fukidashi Park's Spring
Fukidashi Park is known for its natural beauty and cultural importance. The park is home to the 33rd Kannon Statue, a spiritual monument built by a local priest during the early Showa period. The statue stands as a testament to the reverence with which the local community holds the spring water, adding a spiritual layer to the park’s allure.

Team Nicerio visits Fukidashi Park
My family and I visited Fukidashi Park for the first time last April 1, 2023, during our 3-Day 2023 Birthday Road Trip. It was my 516th day here in Japan as an ALT under the JET Programme. This was the highlight of our first day on the road. I have seen photos of the beautiful spring online, so I made sure to include it in today’s itinerary. Aside from enjoying the view, I also did not miss tasting the water from the spring, as it is one of Japan's "100 Famous Waters." I highly recommend that you include this hidden gem of Hokkaido when you have the chance.

Getting to Fukidashi Park
There are multiple ways to get to Fukidashi Park from Otaru Station, but this is the route I’m most familiar with:
From Otaru Station, walk to the Otaru Eki Mae bus stop and take the Otaru Eki Mae Line (bound for Otaru Eki Mae) operated by the Niseko Bus Company. Get off at the Kosei Byoin Mae bus stop.
From there, transfer to the Kyogoku Line Kimobetsu (via Kyogoku) bus and get off at the Kyogoku Kominkan Mae bus stop. Then, walk approximately 1.5 kilometers to Fukidashi Park. Alternatively, you can take a taxi for the last stretch, though it may be quite expensive.
