Japan Diaries 4: Quarantine Week 2

Quarantine Week 2: October 25 - 31, 2021   It's the final week of my 14-day quarantine here in Japan . So far, my 7-day stay here in Keio Plaza Hotel in Shibuya City, Tokyo Prefecture was busy but fun. I have never imagined staying in a high-class hotel in Japan   this long for FREE . It's really one for the books. Here's how my last week went.  Day 8: October 25, 2021 Monday Attended the British Council Online Seminar Session 3 (10:45-11:45AM) Topic: Teaching in Senior High School Temp check @34F 12:30-1PM I accomplished the 6th day of the 2021 Post-Arrival Orientation tasks. Quarantine Week 1: October 18-24, 2021 This is it! It's officially my first week of quarantine here in Japan . For those who missed my intro article, my fellow Filipino Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) and I were all housed in Keio Plaza Hotel in Shinjuku City, Tokyo Prefecture. Since we're not allowed to leave our room, you might find the usual per day article boring so I'll be sharing with you a summarized version of my daily life as a quarantined ALT.  Day 1: October 18, 2021 Monday As part of the health protocol requirements, we were required to check our own temperature for 6 days using the temperature strip that they provided us in the kit. Intro Finally! After almost a year of waiting, I am once again heading to Japan . Not as a tourist but as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) under the JET Programme. You can read more about it in my article Road to JET 2021: Timeline .  Since this series is not purely about travel and on most days I'm working, I won't be posting a per day article like in the past series but a week and weekend compilation instead. In case there would be holiday trips or cultural events, I would write a special article about it and briefly mention it in the week/weekend article. Aside from that, I would like to share that the setup of this trip is also unique compared to those experienced by ALTs before. Because of the pandemic and the health protocols implemented in Japan .
