Japan Diaries 2: Day 9

Day 9 May 25, 2018

Back to Osaka

Greetings from Osaka! Today is a very sunny day. Perfect for exploring the outdoors.

Good morning!

However, we decided to just stay mostly at home in the morning to rest and wash the clothes we used in Kyoto. My wife also used this opportunity to cook her incredible macaroni soup dish for our Japanese family.

Time for some eye check-up

Time to go home...

... and of course my wife's special soup.

While she was busy in the kitchen, I accompanied Mr. Toshi to the eye doctor for his checkup. After this, Mr. Toshi and I both excitedly drove back home to try out my wife's dish. I was so happy to hear compliments from Mr. Toshi and his wife while they were trying out the dish. They probably enjoyed it much that they invited us to go to Lalaport (mall) to buy more ingredients to cook more of it that afternoon.

I hope Kaldi has what we need...

We had a fun bonding/shopping time with them "hunting" for those Asian ingredients in several stores like Kaldi Coffee Farm and the likes. Sadly, we did not find all the needed ingredients there. Before leaving we had a bit of a coffee break at Kurashiki Coffee.

After leaving Lalaport (mall), I thought that we were heading back home already, but apparently, Mr. Toshi really wanted to get all those ingredients so we headed to Costco in Izumisano City in hopes of completing our list of ingredients. We managed to cross out some on the list but still weren't able to complete all. Regardless, we got some ingredients for another Filipino dish that my wife could cook in the following days.

Smile!

Overall, today was a special day for us as we managed to please our Japanese family by cooking for them. What made it more special was the fact that they enjoyed my wife's dish very much. Now, that made me excited to cook my own specialty which I was planning to do from the get-go.
