10 Wheeler Truck Mindanao Road Trip: Day 2 and 3

10 Wheeler Truck Mindanao Road Trip: Day 2 and 3

Day 2

After a semi-sleepless night (Due to the fact that I feel like I was on guard for the group), we packed up at around 5AM and then drove a few kilometers to one of the nearest food stalls in Gingoog City for our breakfast. All I can say is - "Nothing beats a warm cup of coffee and a sandwich on a cold morning."

Good morning from Gingoog City.

Early morning coffee before we continue on our way!

Road to Cagayan De Oro City

Talisayan Beach

That's my father-in-law and my brother-in-law skinny dipping

Check out how beautiful this beach is.

Time's up! Time to go!

Our next stop was in Talisayan, Misamis Oriental were my father-in-law and brother-in-law enjoyed their early morning dip in Talisayan's brown sand beach. I was so engrossed in documenting the trip, that I skipped the chance of joining them. Aside from the mentioned reasons, it also dawned on me (just recently) that I had no guts swimming on my undies in front of the local folks. (Yup my father-in-law and brother-in-law swam wearing nothing but undies.)

Brunch at Evergreen Sea Foods

After the side trip in Talisayan, we hopped on our truck and proceeded to head towards Cagayan De Oro City (CDO). However, my father-in-law promised to take us first to one of his usual stopover venues whenever he's craving freshly cooked fish. Also located in Talisayan, Misamis Oriental, we were treated to a tasty seafood dish in Evergreen Sea Foods. We stayed for a while and chatted about anything under the sun. After burping out the extra air from the soda that we drank, we finally headed straight to Cagayan de Oro City (CDO) to deliver the logs.

Crossing Tagaloan Bridge

The lumberyard... Step 1: Drop off the logs

Step 2: Cutting station

Step 3: The lumber will be cut to planks

Final product

When we reached CDO and delivered the logs to the lumber yard, we were finally able to rest on a bed (not a comfy type though but still feels great) and take a hot shower but our adventure didn't end there. Just after an hour of resting my brother-in-law and I decided to head to the heart of the city to buy something that I collect.

I got the Cagayan de Oro Starbucks tumbler for my collection

Finally my Cagayan De Oro City Tumbler

We headed to a place called Limketkai Center to look for a branch of Starbucks to buy the Cagayan De Oro City tumbler (My 5th Starbucks city tumbler!). I missed out on buying one during my honeymoon trip because my wife and I only had a few hours of stay in CDO. After sipping a cup of coffee and accomplishing my objective, we headed back to the lumber yard. When we arrived, it was actually time for us to head back to Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur

The truck without the cargo.
.
Our trip was faster this time because there were no hassles (crocodiles who stop trucks asking for money) and of course, the fact that the truck was lighter already. We spent the night at the same place that we stopped over during our trip to Cagayan de Oro City.

Day 3

I'm happy to see the saplings of the Falcata trees being sold to replace the ones cut down for the lumber business

We left very early in the morning and headed straight home to Prosperidad in Agusan Del Sur. We got back home at around 4PM wrapping up our 3-day 10 Wheeler Truck Mindanao Road Trip.

Finally! Home sweet home!

This was one of the most memorable road trips that I had in my life. It was unbelievable that I got to ride a 10 Wheeler Truck and then went around Northern Mindanao.

    1. Hello Lina! It's a pleasure to hear from you again!
Really you're also collecting those? Well you should really visit the Philippines. There are atleast 15 different city tumblers available in the country.
